How to (not) build a distributed monolith - orchestrate using Netflix Conductor

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC)

You build your applications on microservices architecture. You like the fact that you can follow the single responsibility principle and build services that can be independently scaled and reasoned about. A typical business application requires coordination across multiple microservices. This creates a dilemma, where do you put the coordination logic: Is this a new service, do services publish messages to a pub/sub system like Kafka or Azure Service Bus? If so, you are halfway there! In this session, we will learn about the pitfalls of invariably building a distributed monolith, challenges that comes with it and how we can leverage evening systems with an orchestrator like Netflix Conductor to make a distributed stateful microservices based application that provides agility that you desire with operational visibility, control and more importantly correctness of the distributed system. Who is it aimed at? Developers interested in event driven orchestration and building distributed applications. Why should I attend? In this session, we will learn about the pitfalls of invariably building a distributed monolith, challenges that comes with it and how we can leverage evening systems with an orchestrator like Netflix Conductor to make a distributed stateful microservices based application that provides agility that you desire with operational visibility, control and more importantly correctness of the distributed system.

Building the Orkes SaaS Platform using Orchestration

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC)

We used an Orchestration platform to build our SaaS platform for Orchestration. Dogfooding our platform not only helped us validate our product, but also improved the velocity and quality of our SaaS platform. In this talk, we will share about our journey through this process, what we did, how we did it, the pitfalls we faced and how we recovered from them. Who is it aimed at? Developers looking to build cloud native and highly available, scalable, and observable SaaS services Why should I attend? Learn about how the orchestration pattern is a great choice for building cloud native SaaS services. This session will also go in-depth about the various design choices that needs to be made and how Netflix Conductor provides a battle tested platform for orchestrating services spanning languages, frameworks, and clouds.

Resiliency at Scale with Netflix Conductor

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (UTC)

In this talk, we will present strategies to build resilient, distributed stateful applications in a hybrid cloud environment at scale that powers the likes of Netflix and many other businesses at scale. We will dive deeper into the architecture of Netflix Conductor and how it allows you to seamlessly handle common concerns around failures, rate limits and scaling stateful systems as easily as a stateless service. Who is it aimed at? Developers looking to build resilient applications that scale. Why should I attend? You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how Conductor operates and its role in managing microservices-based workflows. We will highlight its key features, including dynamic scheduling, task retries, and failover, that enable organizations to effectively handle unexpected events and ensure continuous operation.
